The Neighborhood
“Park Hill’s suburb-in-the-city vibe is still strong, but the neighborhood’s tiny commercial spots (Kearney Street, Oneida Street, and so on) are hopping. What that means is that residents have easy commutes to downtown, next-door access to City Park (and the Denver Zoo), and the option of sipping a happy hour glass of wine within walking distance of their stoop. In short, it’s the good life.”

The neighborhood

“West Colfax has a rich and diverse history in Denver. Over 100 years ago, West Colfax developed as the residential and business center for the Jewish Community, and several large Victorian homes were built along Stuart St., now a historic district. West Colfax Avenue became a part of US Highway 40 in the 1940s, a 26-mile stretch through Denver where hotels, restaurants, and clubs were built; reminders of them still dot W. Colfax Ave. today. West Colfax remains one of the most diverse and culturally unique neighborhoods in Denver.”

- This is not a party spot!
- HVAC System:
The house is a single “zone” from an HVAC perspective. You can operate the system from the panel in the dining room. We run the A/C at 68 degrees in the summer and that keeps the house cool. We tend to turn the A/C off at night, particularly if there is anyone staying in the basement. It can become quite frigid down there. In the winter, we set the thermostat to a minimum of 65 degrees at all times and turn it up as needed.

Neighborhood overview
Scott's home is located in Denver, Colorado, United States. It takes 31-59 minutes to drive to Denver International Airport. It takes 30-77 minutes to drive to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport. “Locals rave about the storybook setting that is the upscale residential area of University Park, located just across University Blvd. from University of Denver’s sprawling campus (aka DU). Wide roads are lined with mature trees, magnificent mansions and quaint carriage houses. Stately old brick homes with wide front porches and big, shady lawns attribute to University Park’s desirable status.

The Neighborhood
"Cultures blend in historic Five Points, one of Denver's oldest and most diverse neighborhoods. The district was known as the "Harlem of the West" because it was a frequent stop for jazz greats including Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, who played clubs like the Rossonian and the Rainbow Room. The neighborhood was also mentioned repeatedly in Jack Kerouac's On the Road. Today, historic Five Points' creativity and vibrancy live on in a fascinating fusion of old and new. Visitors can stop in at innovative coffeehouses and craft breweries, visit museums telling stories from the past or eat at beloved soul food and barbecue institutions."

Today, South Broadway and the Baker neighborhood in Denver offer an eclectic mix of neighborhood taverns, vintage clothing stores, unique eateries, bookstores, art galleries, ethnic restaurants, craft shops, an art house movie theater and hip live music venues. The neighborhood

"From its early beginnings during the Gold Rush era, The Mile High City has always been a gathering place for diverse and creative people. Today, Denver is an outdoor city with a vibrant, walkable downtown offering urban adventures for all ages. Within a one-mile radius, you can kayak on the Platte River; explore some of the city's best museums; shop at art galleries and boutiques; see a Broadway touring show; enjoy live music; ride a rollercoaster or cool off in a water park; and experience exciting professional sports. Downtown is also home to many of Denver's top farm-to-table restaurants and innovative craft breweries, and the Denver Beer Trail is a great guide to sampling those local brews. Downtown's free 16th Street Mall shuttle makes it even easier to get around. Visit Larimer Square and the newly renovated Denver Union Station in historic Lower Downtown (Lodo), where Victorian buildings now house restaurants, galleries, shops, bars, brewpubs and coffee houses, or head to Denver Pavilions where you'll find shops, restaurants, bars and a movie theater. You can also discover Denver's neighborhoods by bike, thanks to the B-cycle bike-sharing program and don't miss the chance for a photo with everyone's favorite Blue Bear public art sculpture greeting visitors at the Colorado Convention Center." The neighborhood

“Since its humble beginnings in 1863, Berkeley's Tennyson Street has continued to grow and to evolve - somehow mastering the perfect balance of casual cool through its shopping, services, attractions, and amenities for Denver visitors and residents alike.

Originally annexed as the Town of North Denver, the Berkeley neighborhood has set the stage for some of Denver's most well known names. Historic giants like Elitch's (Zoological) Gardens, whose original theatre is still located at 38th and Tennyson, helped to create the vibrant cultural landscape unique to the neighborhood and its history. Mary Elitch, the owner of Elitch's Gardens and namesake theatre, had a particular interest in developing the arts and cultural scene in the northwest Denver neighborhood. The popularity of her theatre (the first to screen movies in Denver), zoological and botanical gardens resulted in the rise of the Tennyson street car named the "Berkeley Motor", a bustling track of transportation that serviced and helped grow the population of homeowners and visitors in the neighborhood.

Fast forward to modern day, many things in the Berkeley neighborhood and Tennyson Street have changed. The cable car tracks have long been ripped up and once quiet neighborhoods have begun to swell. What has remained is the neighborhood's dedication to and celebration of arts and culture. Tennyson Street actively participates in the nationwide First Fridays art walk every month, in addition to year-round festivals and activities. To sum it all up: Tennyson Street is a historically rich neighborhood that, despite many changes, continues to hold on to its unique character and bohemian charm.”

“From its early beginnings during the Gold Rush era, The Mile High City has always been a gathering place for diverse and creative people.

You can also discover Denver's neighborhoods by bike, thanks to the B-cycle bike-sharing program and don't miss the chance for a photo with everyone's favorite Blue Bear public art sculpture greeting visitors at the Colorado Convention Center.”

Neighborhood overview
"Victorian-era homes and buildings; lush gardens and parks; hip independently owned shops; art galleries; and restaurants, all make the Denver Highlands neighborhood a great destination for visitors. There are three diverse districts to discover here: Highlands Square, Tennyson Street and Lower Highlands (LoHi). Boutiques, wine shops and bookstores, as well as popular restaurants and bars radiate out from Highland Square on West 32nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard. And, in the Tennyson Street Cultural District, you can spend an afternoon browsing antique prints, photographs and paintings from Colorado artists, plus find live music venues and great ethnic foods. LoHi is characterized by a mix of old and ultra-modern architecture, some of the city's most innovative restaurants and bars, and incredible views of the Highland Bridge and downtown Denver." The neighborhood
“This official neighborhood is just west of City Park, Denver’s largest park. But the hot-hot-hot dining scene is what this neighborhood is better known for—especially recently. Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center also sits smack-dab in the middle of the neighborhood, which means some extra commotion and parking woes, but luckily less siren sound-offs than you’d think. (You also won't mind if you are sipping a cocktail on one of the area's numerous patios.)”

The Neighborhood
“Victorian-era homes and buildings; lush gardens and parks; hip independently owned shops; art galleries; and restaurants, all make the Denver Highlands neighborhood a great destination for visitors. LoHi is characterized by a mix of old and ultra-modern architecture, some of the city's most innovative restaurants and bars, and incredible views of the Highland Bridge and downtown Denver.”

Neighborhood overview
To sum it all up: Tennyson Street is a historically rich neighborhood that, despite many changes, continues to hold on to its unique character and bohemian charm.” Read more about Tennyson Street and Berkeley from the SHOP TENNYSON website.

The Neighborhood
“From its early beginnings during the Gold Rush era, The Mile High City has always been a gathering place for diverse and creative people. Today, Denver is an outdoor city with a vibrant, walkable downtown offering urban adventures for all ages. Within a one-mile radius, you can kayak on the Platte River; explore some of the city’s best museums; shop at art galleries and boutiques; see a Broadway touring show; enjoy live music; ride a rollercoaster or cool off in a water park; and experience exciting professional sports. Downtown is also home to many of Denver’s top farm-to-table restaurants and innovative craft breweries, and the Denver Beer Trail is a great guide to sampling those local brews.

Downtown’s free 16th Street Mall shuttle makes it even easier to get around. Visit Larimer Square and the newly renovated Denver Union Station in historic Lower Downtown (Lodo), where Victorian buildings now house restaurants, galleries, shops, bars, brewpubs and coffee houses, or head to Denver Pavilions where you’ll find shops, restaurants, bars and a movie theater.

You can also discover Denver’s neighborhoods by bike, thanks to the B-cycle bike-sharing program and don’t miss the chance for a photo with everyone’s favorite Blue Bear public art sculpture greeting visitors at the Colorado Convention Center.”

Breckenridge
The space

The home is located at the north end of Main St, meaning that all of the restaurants, bars, galleries, and shops in downtown Breckenridge are a convenient stroll away. Since parking is onsite (2 car garage + 2 driveway spots), you never have to worry about where to leave your vehicles.

This home is setup perfectly to accommodate a large family or multiple couples. There are 3 bedrooms (including 2 master suites) and a bunk room that sleeps 4. There are beds for 10 people. Below are specific details about each of the levels in the home. The home has 3 levels that flow well together, but also provide separation when desired.

Main level:
The open floor plan is ideal for entertaining with the entry, dining, living, and kitchen areas seamlessly flowing from one to another. Guests can lounge in the living room, enjoying the gas fire place, watching TV (with a huge range of channels available, including most sports), or simply gazing out the huge windows at the Breckenridge ski area and surrounding mountains. A large dining table and 4 countertop bar seats ensure that all guests have a place to eat, drink, and socialize. You can even entertain outside with the large wrap-around deck facing north and west. Comfy seats and a heat lamp make it comfortable year round. When it is time to leave the house, the large mudroom is the perfect place to put on all your gear. It has 8 cubbies, a large shelf and bench, and 10+ coat hooks. The mudroom leads directly to the 2-car, heated garage.

Upstairs:
There is a quiet master suite with a walk-in closet and double vanity bath, a second private outdoor deck (connected to the whole home audio), flat screen TV, and a loft desk (in case you actually have to do work while here). Since this is the only bedroom on the upper level, it's more private and perfect for one or two guests who would like their own space.

Downstairs:
A second master suite with a double vanity, large tub, walk-in shower, walk-in closet, flat screen TV, and direct access to the outside private fire pit and private hot tub. The bed in this master is a king-size with a Tempur-Pedic mattress.

A second bedroom with a large closet, flat screen TV, and full bath. Although completely private, the proximity to the master suite makes it perfect for young families who may have a napper or young sleeper not ready for a bunk. The bed in this room is a queen size.

Bunk room: kids and fun-loving adults immediately fall in love with this space. Two twin-size bunk beds provide 4 sleeping berths with shared access to the full bath of the second bedroom. The flat screen TV and Blu-ray player make it a great space to watch movies and hang out. Note that the bunk room does not have a door that closes it off completely -- it is not a 4th bedroom.

Laundry: if you need to do a little washing while on vacation, the full size washer and drier are conveniently located downstairs as well.

Pets: no pets, but service animals are permitted. Please advise owner when making reservation.

Interaction with guests

You will have my assistants phone number that will be available to you 24/7 throughout your stay!
